Everything is on everything

This time of the year, it so happens that everything is on everything in my veggie bed. I do know that plants also need room to grow but while planting I try to squeeze in different plants that by the end of summer this is what happens.

Some one was here for a visit

Early morning sunday, woke up to see these Mommy turkey and little ones who are here for a visit. We live close to city and don't see muct wildlife except for few squirrels. It was surprise to see this group.

Storyland

We had a lovely visit to Storyland, two weeks back. Its a dream come true for a toddler to enjoy all the rides, fantasies and have fun...This is our first visit and well worth it. They do have family rides where they also allow  infants in lap.

A cucumber is missing which we shared it with our neighbor. We have been picking sungold cherry tomatoes almost daily (missing from picture). These tomatoes are like instant treat for my toddler. I made a mistake of picking those 2 eggplants early as I thought they were little prince variety, these would have grown bigger.

Always amazes me..

The way bridges are constructed, so that they raise to give way to boats and ships and close to support road/rail traffic.

Recycling

I had these bottles which were ready to go into recycle bin, but have been recycled, a different way..I have been trying to shop online for some spice jars, but not able to make up my mind with the once I liked, I was not really looking at ones which go on counter. Others which I encountered were a pricy option. When this idea struck, I am quite satisfied atleast for a while and come for free....

Here goes the list Eggplant, Okra, Sungold cherry tomatoes, Cucumbers, Sweet Basil, Mint and Baby chard.....

End of July...

Its been a nice summer and finally we are getting few sungold tomatoes to taste, but the early girl tomato plants are still not growing. I am sure they must be root bound in the nursery and taking forever to recover. Cucumbers are the best this year as we have harvested 6 already from 3 plants. I am picking okras in batches and hoping I can make a okra fry. Eggplant plants are full of blossoms. Ridge gourd is growing and yet to set flowers. Weeds are all over :( need to find some time to get rid of them.
