Amaryllis in Pot

Here is the picture from the bulb package, I will wait and watch if the real flower will at least come closer to this :)

I wish this happened in my garden

I took my daughter to Science Museum and she wanted to go into the butterfly garden section, this is one of her best places in the museum and we had a great time sitting and watching beautiful butterflies flying around us.

Comfort snack for a snowy evening

Moong dal snack

Grinded sprouted moong dal + green chilli paste + ginger paste
We had Blizzard snow. It started snowing on Sunday and continued on Monday. It was a nice excuse to make and eat something savory and the end result are these moong dal pokoda, they are hot, spicy and crunchy and a perfect comfort food for a snowy evening.

Thumbprint Cookies

For the first time I tried thumbprint cookies as a trial before I make some cookies for a cookie swap. I am glad they turned out good(atleast taste-wise :)). I need to master the art of making the cookies in uniform size and I guess I have to use Jam and not fruit spread (which overflowed from some cookies). Overall a quick and easy experiment.

Happy Holidays ...

Orange, Cranberry, Nut Bread/Cake

I tried Orange, Cranberry, Nut Bread recipe and gave it a cake shape...really enjoyed the tartness and Orange and Nutty flavors...

Sprout Salad...

...Moong sprouts + Tomatos + Jelapeneos + Bell peppers + Red onions + salt + Amchoor powder = YUM YUM...

Still growing...

I should say I am still growing *something* even though its winter. Recently, I have been regularly sprouting moong dal or chick peas for salads.

Its already Dec

Its already December and no snow yet. I captured these pictures when I went for a walk. Its amazing that in summer the same trees were green and lush and now they are bare. Nature is something which is always most beautiful whatever the season is...

Visit to a farm

We visited a holiday open house @Wilson Farm, Lexington, MA. Here are some pictures....

Holiday Cheer!!!

Diwali Diyas
For me "Holiday Cheer" starts with Diwali (Festival of lights, usually is in Oct or Nov) and then Thanks Giving break, Christmas and finally the new year. I look forward for this part of the year. It is right period for me to look back at the year to see how year went and for planning for the new year to come.
