Seedlings

Most of the seeds I have sown have germinated but yet to get their true leaves, this is taking a long time. In any case I am planning to get them out early June.

Buy one get one free

I got a deal at one of the stores, buy one plant and get another free. So here are the 2 plants I got home and planted them in my spray painted pots.

First Containers

This is my first container arrangement, got inspired by the projects by Fern @ lifeonthebalcony. I have not used all the exact plants but using Spotted Deadnettle (Lamium maculatum), Coleus and Celosia. I felt its a thriller, filler and spiller concept. If you have noticed, the pots have been spray painted to get a metallic look.

salad greens getting there...

Thriving Mint...

This is my peppermint plant, I repotted couple of weeks back and its growing well. After over wintering it and getting it back to grow, its real doing well from last year. Here is the picture from last year.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there. I had a wonderful day today, went out for a first 5k road race, for which my daughter and husband have come to cheer me. These are flowers my neighbour got them for me to wish the day. They are beautiful and fragrant lilacs from her backyard.

Flowering Cherry & Dogwood trees from backyard

Squirrels & Tulips

Its spring time and Tulips have come and almost gone, they are beautiful and indeed a treat for eyes. This is the first time last fall I have planted a lot of bulbs and they have come out great except that I noticed some of the bulbs have been eaten away by squirrels. Looks like squirrels like them :). Next time need to take some precautions.
