Breakfast for the day
With a toddler, I need to get creative. My daughter is now bored of round pancakes. So here are the ducks swimming....LOL
What happened to rhubarb??
I always heard Rhubarb paired with strawberries for making crisp or pies. I know it's popular and favorite for many to pair the sweetness of strawberries ( or lots of sugar ) with tartness of rhubarb. Not being a sweet tooth, I was looking for using it in something savory and came across rhubarb lentils in

I tried my own version of dal with red lentils and I really liked the tartness of rhubarb in dal.

What did I do with kohlrabi?
Last year was the first time I got kohlrabi from CSA, and I waited and waited to use it and at the end used it in a stir fry. We ended up eating. That's all I could say :). This year I wanted to make something different and searched online and tried kohlrabi slaw with grated kohlrabi, carrots, apple cider vinegar, sesame seed oil, bit of sriracha hot sauce and sea salt. Chilled this for few hours and at dinner time it was a great hit. Even my 6 year old ate it like she wanted seconds. Now I will have to definitely buy this veggie again in season.
CSA basket - jun 19
Here is what we got lot of lettuce, sugar snap peas, shelling peas, beets, radish, tomatoes, cucumbers. Except for radishes everything is going very well.

Juicy strawberries are coming in
As we see them, we are picking and eating. It's hard even to capture a picture of bunch of them :). They go straight into the mouth.
Pea tendrils stir fry
I didn't wait longer to use them. I tried quick stir fry with olive oil, garlic, pea tendrils, sea salt and chilli flakes for some heat. It tasted great.

Green basket - CSA basket - jun 12
We were eagerly waiting for CSA pickups to start this year. I know we can go buy all these in a grocery store or a farm. I enjoy the surprise element of what will be in basket this week and the fact that they are picked fresh that morning. I was happy to see basket full of greens this week. Now I need to be on my toes to finish up all the veggies while they are fresh and before we get our next basket :). I never tasted rhubarb, so can't wait to make something with it. We got the following this week
Baby spinach, kale, radishes, pea tendrils, chard, kohlrabi, rhubarb, squash and romaine. I need to find what I can do with pea tendrils, never heard of them.
