Earth Day is coming soon

Jan@Thanks for Today is hosting a Annual Gardeners' Sustainable Living Project, in which she asks garden bloggers to share things we are doing or plan to do in our gardens to help the environment. I am joining in to share my thoughts.

I am starting the gardening year with a new addition to my indoor plants. Above orchid is a gift from my husband and daughter. I do some vegetable gardening without the use of pesticides. I am planning to use cow manure to my vegetable bed and would be feeding seaweed and fish fertilizer. Occasionally for controlling some pests I use neem spray and this year, I am planning to make some garlic and pepper spray. Big todo for the garden this year is mulching, this helps in retaining the moisture and at the same time gives a beautiful look to the landscape. We need to fix the patches in the lawn with new seed and as we don't use any chemicals to prevent weeds, I may have to add periodic weeding to keep the bad guys in control.

Your use of natural organic fertilizers is a big help to mother earth! Good luck with your veggie garden this year. I always use mulch in my gardens to help retain moisture. I hope it works for you! Thanks for linking your post to my project/giveaway;-)
