Fall Bulb Ritual Preparations
I paid a visit to my local garden center but couldn't resist myself from bringing home bulbs. I picked few tulip bulbs and few hyacinths. Along with them picked Alliums too after getting an advice from a fellow shopper to sow the bulbs along with Allium bulbs to keep away squirrels from digging and eating bulbs. Last year I have put lot many tulip bulbs and half of them have been eaten by squirrels. Oh my sweet squirrels, are you not satisfied by the acorn nuts (we have huge Oak tree) that you are after my bulbs. Time will tell me if I am making the way for beautiful flowers in spring or cooking a gourmet meal for my squirrel :)

Good plan, I hadn't heard about the Allium bulbs! Thankfully I ordered 100 Alliums and will place them around the garden and hopefully mine won't be dug up either...
I was told to plant Alliums along with Tulips. In case if you pick summer blooming variety, then after Tulips fade you still get some color the allium flowers give
very funny write-up Sarada...keep up the good work of writing and planting :) I will get pointers from your site for my next year's agricultural venture :)
Thanks Shakthi
