Green basket - CSA basket - jun 12
We were eagerly waiting for CSA pickups to start this year. I know we can go buy all these in a grocery store or a farm. I enjoy the surprise element of what will be in basket this week and the fact that they are picked fresh that morning. I was happy to see basket full of greens this week. Now I need to be on my toes to finish up all the veggies while they are fresh and before we get our next basket :). I never tasted rhubarb, so can't wait to make something with it. We got the following this week

Roses Roses Roses
Aren't they looking pretty? We got one climbing variety and another Grandiflora. I love roses, but we don't have a great sunny spot for them. This spot gets sunlight in the mornings, we are taking a chance and have our fingers crossed. I have 3 plants as shown below in the last picture, every year they get attacked by winter moth caterpillars early in the season :(
Vegetable bed
This year I haven't started any seeds indoors, today I got cucumbers and peppers for planting. I wanted couple of grape or cherry tomatoes, but to my surprise, Garden center was out of them.
New Addition
We planted 2 raspberry bushes, if things go well, we may get few next year. I meant to do this longtime ago and got to it this year. We all love berries like anything.
First strawberry
This is something exciting, we got our first strawberry. It turned out sour :(, I hope the new ones growing may get some sweetness.

Fancy pot

Visit to garden center
Feels like Spring and I was at the garden center last Sunday to get some strawberry plants. They are not on yet, but I enjoyed some beautiful colors.
